Our video production company partnered with the NYC Health + Hospitals team to create two videos for their social worker recruitment campaign in New York City.
The Story
NYC Health + Hospitals serves more than a million New Yorkers annually in over 70 patient care locations across the city. In June of 2024, NYC Health + Hospitals announced a social worker recruitment campaign. They wanted to encourage social workers to join the health system in a variety of areas. Their recruitment campaign spanned subway cars, bus shelters in neighborhoods with social work schools, NYC Health + Hospitals facilities and social media. They also promoted the campaign via Google. Our video production and design company was brought in to create two videos to accompany the campaign.
The Process
- Our process started with narrative work – our team collaborated with the NYC Health + Hospitals team on a vision for the video.
- Next, we held virtual pre-production calls with each of our four interviewees to help inform the narrative.
- Then, our production team put all of the logistics in place for filming. We developed interview questions, location scouted, and assembled our crew for filming.
- Simultaneously, our in-house motion designer mocked up several design directions for client review.
- She worked closely with the client to ensure the designs fit their brand package for the campaign.
- Next, she created a detailed storyboard based on the approved design direction and animated the designs.
- Then, we got to work on editing. Our editor, Nick Noyes, created two versions of the video for NYC Health + Hospitals. A longer version for web and a shorter one for social.
- Once our motion designer integrated her animations seamlessly into the edits, we brought our colorist, Cédric von Niederhausern, on board to add the finishing touches.
- After three rounds of client review, we delivered the final video to NYC Health + Hospitals. This included 4 videos (with and without subtitles).
