We were thrilled to learn today that Show the Good, along with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), was nominated for a Webby in the Public Service and Activism, General Video category for our 2019 Step it Up for LGBTQ Rights PSA.
We’ve been honored to work on the Step it Up NYC dance, step and service competition with DYCD for the past five years. It’s a competition that asks youth around New York City to use their art to create change in their communities. This year, after the top ten finalists were chosen, the DYCD team had to make the tough decision to cancel the final showcase for the 2020 competition.
This makes the Webby announcement today all the more exciting. We are certainly honored but also so thrilled for the incredible youth around New York City who participate in this program who helped make this piece so special.
This nomination is a testament to their incredible talent and dedication to making this world a better place. We salute them and hope you vote for our PSA to win! What a great way to show that the youth of Step it Up NYC should be honored for their talent even in the midst of the crisis our city is facing.
Head to this link, and vote for Step it Up for LGBTQ Rights, then tweet, post and share with your networks to show your love for New York and the incredible youth of our beautiful city.
[UPDATE: Our PSA came in 3rd place! You can still watch it on the Webby’s site here. Thanks for all your support!]
